the best part of hello mary lou: prom night two is when the principal has a random nightmare about his ex pegging his son in the back of a car. this is also what elevates the sequel far above the original.

So I just watched Prom Night 2: Hello Mary-Lou, which is probably the most surreal movie I've ever seen. For reference, the first Prom Night movie is a straight-forwards slasher movie with a normal human killer. The sequel on the other hand, has nothing to do with the original, is explicitly supernatural, and is filled with batshit insane stuff like a chalkboard eating someone to the point where you don't know what's actually real or not half the time you're watching it. And even after looking up multiple plot summaries I still don't really know what the hell is going on.

Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II’s original motion picture soundtrack is available on vinyl for the first time for $30 via Terror Vision Records. The score is composed by Paul Zaza (Prom Night, My Bloody Valentine).

The album is pressed on three variants: pink & black split with splatter (limited to 250), pink inside neon yellow (limited to 250), and neon pink & white split (Record Store Day exclusive). It’s housed in a gatefold jacket designed by Earl Kessler Jr. and Worserbeings with liner notes by Zaza.

The Prom Night II soundtrack is also available on white cassette for $13.
